Adornleaf Tea Co. Stands With You

To everyone protesting and peacefully demonstrating in honor of George Floyd and in defiance of ongoing police brutality—

Adornleaf Tea Co. stands with you.

As a Black American and student of government, I understand how the harrowing histories of police brutality, systemic oppression, and racism continue to impact people of color in the United States in 2020. And as the daughter of a lifelong law enforcement officer, I also understand the need for safety and adequate training for all police officers. However, I recognize the need for system wide reform in policing. Contrary to what many would believe, I believe that protesting demonstrates love America, enough of it to demand better from those in power. And I also believe we, as a people, can take on the challenge of dismantling the systems that allow these type of police incidents to continue and replace them with those that are designed to create safe, engaged communities for everyone who lives in them. Adornleaf Tea Co. encourages everyone to take action in appropriate ways and take moments of peace away from the news and social media to recharge as often as necessary. Take care of yourselves, your health, and each other.

With love and gratitude for your support,

Rachel
