Why Aren't You Brewing Your Tea Twice?

To the tea lovers that this may concern,
It's been occurring to me they many folks aren't aware of the sheer possibility that's available to you when you purchase some high-quality handmade organic tea from Adornleaf Tea Co. And that’s on me for not shouting everything I know about tea from the rooftops every day - as much as I try to lean on towards herbal education, I can also take for granted that people know everything about the herbal teas they've recently purchased. But it’s cool I love y'all, and I got y'all.

Mildly accusatory tone of this post aside - I am going to make sure you leave this blog well-informed and ready to squeeze out every drop of herbal goodness.

Here are a few brewing tips to get the most out of your investment.

1) Brew your bagged tea twice (or more, if you want). Bagged Adornleaf Tea contains 2 1-tsp servings of tea, so I often recommend that you brew with 10-14 oz of hot water as opposed to the standard 8 oz. Or, it you've got a smaller mug, you can do two consecutive cups using the same tea bag and still get a lot of flavor and benefits out of that second cup.
2) Add a bit more hot water to your loose tea once you've finished your first cup. I have been working to change all ATC packaging and labels to advise that you brew loose tea with 1 tablespoon of tea as opposed to a teaspoon, so forgive me if your tea still instructs the latter. But with a tablespoon, you've got some room to set up a bigger cup or even more enjoyment since the herbs, flowers, and dried fruit still have so much to offer you once your first cup is done.
3) Play around with icing your pre-brewrd tea, or toss it in the refrigerator once it cools. So many people miss out on the refreshing versatility of cold herbal tea. It's great on a warm day, with a meal, or anytime you want an herbal vibe but aren't quite feeling all the heat.
4) Mix your tea with spirits, fruit juices, or sparkling water to switch up the vibe and still get your herbal benefits in. Try something new in 2024!

If you’ve met me in person at any local pop-up events, I often make sure to mention that you should think of tea much like you would coffee: it’s completely customizable for your own needs and tastes. Use more, use less, add sweetener or not, and adjust your brewing to what works for you. But make sure you’re making the most of what’s in your mug! That’s the beauty of a high-quality brew. It really is the gift that keeps on givng.

There’s more to come about this, tea lovers! Thanks for reading.

Until next time,

Rachel
