Much Ado About Mullein Leaf...

Verbascum densiflorum, or mullein, as it’s more commonly known, serves as a super-mellow, herbally beneficial base ingredient of two Adornleaf Tea Co. handmade herbal tea blends. Its leaves are fluffy, distinctive, and the perfect complement to all flavors in ATC’s teas from sweet to medicinal.

There’s lots to learn about mullein, including that

  • Mullein’s flavor is subtle and earthy. Its mellow mood makes it a wonderful partner to most herbal flavors.

  • Mullein contains several anti-inflammatory compounds, including luteolin, kaempferol, verbascoside, and quercetin.

  • Mullein has expectorant and demulcent qualities and is often used to help ease topical skill issues as well as bronchitis and other respiratory ailments.

  • Mullein leaf is extremely versatile and can be used internally in teas, topically in salves and balms, and also used in herbal smoking blends.

*Even though mullein is a superstar herb, you should still consult your trusted licensed medical professional before sustained consumption. Read further about mullein here.

You can find mullein in two of ATC’s iconic herbal tea blends.

Mull It Over is non-caffeinated and perfectly crafted for your relaxation and quiet contemplation.

Mint, Meet Mint features both peppermint and spearmint and brings a cooling and fresh punch to your iced or hot cup.

Psssttt….you can also find mullein in the herbal extras shop! Mullein is such a wonderful ingredient and, quite honestly, one of my all-time favorites. I encourage all tea lovers to try it out :)

Until next time,

Rachel
