ATC's Company Values

Hi all,

I’ve been spending a lot of time recently thinking about Adornleaf Tea Co. That’s not a new phenomenon by any stretch of the imagination, but this time around, I’ve been thinking of the need to share with you all the definitive values that this company holds dear. Even though you can probably see these show up in ATC social media, the events we do, the products we serve, and the way we interact with our customers, I believe it’s important to have these values delineated for all to understand what we do and why we do it.

Adornleaf Tea Co. Values

Accessibility. Tea is for everyone, as evidenced by the rich, varied history of tea that spans entire continents and millennia. Whether you are a years-long tea drinker with refined tastes or a beginner who is just learning about brewing loose tea, composting your tea bags, and discovering the flavors that sing to your tastebuds from your mug, know that ATC is here for you. We stay grounded by offering multiple tea styles and thoughtful, hand-crafted blends that are designed to be incorporated into a variety of everyday lifestyles…and budgets.

Community. By frequently collaborating with local retailers, non-profit organizations, and like-minded individuals and businesses in the Baton Rouge area, ATC exemplifies a commitment to community by supporting the work of its partners and welcoming the prospect of synergy through shared inspiration. ATC is a regular exhibitor, vendor, and contributor to year-round local events and initiatives and allows the needs and unique culture of the community it serves to influence its work.

Shared Learning. Herbal healing is hardly a new concept, and it is understood at ATC that there will always be a wealth of knowledge to dig into when it comes to blending teas. This presents a never-ending opportunity to prioritize collective learning and maintaining transparency in the processes of blending ATC’s herbal goodness. With a spirit of innovation and a deep respect for herbalism in mind, ATC endeavors to inform, empower, and inspire its audience.

As I continue to refine my thoughts on these values and share them, I invite you to consider the values of all of the companies that you support. Now this is not me saying that every company needs to send out a values report directly to your inbox of that they should be on every storefront that you frequent. But maybe just a thought into what things they seem to value that you can sense in the way they do business, interact with customers, and what they seem to find important. I’ve been having these thoughts in my day-to-day shopping often and have been pleasantly surprised by how much the things I hold dear is evident in the companies I choose to devote most of my attention to. Of course, I , like all of you, am constrained in part by the immediate needs and bank account size that are often markers of a small business owner (haha!). it’s still a fascinating thing to consider.

Anyway, happy hump day, and keep watch on ATC’s socials for more about these values and the way I think this business shows up in the world.

With love,

Rachel
